Global war against women: acid attacks in Iran

Nothing to add to this horrible story about acid attacks which, per the Times Thomas Erdbrink, “appear to have been related to efforts to punish women deemed to be improperly veiled according to strict standards for head coverings.” Arrests Follow Acid Attacks on Iranian Women – NYTimes.com.

That’s Islam, in case you were wondering. And:

The attacks coincided with a law passed in Parliament on Sunday protecting those citizens who feel compelled to correct women and men who in their view do not adhere to Iran’s strict social laws. Under the Islamic obligation of “propagating virtue and preventing vice,” Parliament has officially empowered the government and private citizens to give verbal or written statements on social issues.

You do realize that in this country the Supreme Five would also be protecting perpetrators of these attacks. Sure. They’re expressing their First Amendment rights.
