Want to know why I loathe charter schools?

The very, very rich people–like Betsy DeVos–whose fact-free belief in their superiority leads them to the condescending notion that they know best how to educate kids.

In case you didn’t already guess, it’s founded in racism.

Meet another such rotten human being–Daniel Loeb:

UPDATE 8/12/2017. And on the front page of today’s NYT hard copy…

I neglected to pull out and paste in the full quote from Loeb:

“Thank God for Jeff Klein and those who stand for educational choice and support Charter funding that leads to economic mobility and opportunity for poor knack kids,” Mr. Loeb wrote, with “knack” apparently a typographical error for “black.” “Meanwhile hypocrites like Stewart-Cousins who pay fealty to powerful union thugs and bosses do more damage to people of color than anyone who has ever donned a hood.”

As always in this Age of Pathological Projection, Mr. Loeb is describing himself when he names “powerful []thugs and bosses.” Let me point out–I hope not for the first time–that unions are never as powerful as bosses. Which is precisely why unions came to be formed in the first place.

A reminder: unions consist of individual workers who are vulnerable to the whims of their bosses in all aspects of their lives.

Definition of projection from my old Oxford Psychiatric Dictionary (1975) but the definition hasn’t changed, I’ll bet: “In psychiatry, the process of throwing out upon another the ideas or impulses that belong to oneself….The expression implies that what is cast upon another is considered undesirable to the one who projects. The person who blames another for his own mistakes [or character flaws] or seeks a scapegoat is using the projection mechanism.”

Hm. Apply above, as you will.
