A court decision that beautifully illustrates a bunch of legal issues

As I was messing around in twitter, posting something (yes, yes, I tweet), I noticed a wonderful lawsuit bit from the Wall Street Journal’s Law Blog. It manages simultaneously to be

  • Entertaining (it’s about a 1956 red Mercury)
  • Crazy-wild (a father gives Mercury to son and then steals it back)
  • An example of excellent, i.e., not conventional legal writing, from, in this case, a judge
  • And a sharp reminder of the crucial importance of statutes of limitations, i.e., filing deadlines, i.e., showing up on time.
