A mysterious lawsuit caption in a bad lawyer item

I pulled this out of a New York Law Journal abstract not so much for the bad lawyer teaser in the story–see below–but for the title of the lawsuit. It intrigues me, but maybe because at dinner the other night my cousins and I were talking about the new baby British princess.

And then you read, “Plaintiff ordered to join necessary party,” and I have no idea what this means although I’m pretty sure in this case “party” does not mean “celebration.”
