There are some words being used a lot lately, words which I feel could benefit from a time-out. You know, “Go to your room, word. We’ll let you out after we’ve gratefully forgotten they way you’re being used and overused.”
Today, how about the word “patriot”? Everybody’s shouting it out, hammering away with it, everybody’s claiming to be it.
Maybe this fact I picked up from Harper’s Weekly Review can be employed to shove our application of the word into hiatus.
