Gotta admit, I’m in the semi-doldrums about funniness. (Which would be a good word for me when I’m playing the NYT Spelling Bee; I’ve got to remember it.)
I’m aching for some laughable news items. Things have gotten so low here, I’ve been eating cookies while failing to read through Harper’s Weekly Reviews which always has absurdities at which someone as sarcastic (and vengeful) as me could at the very least chuckle.
Today, I’ve broken through. Here are two items from Harper’s connected by droplets:
The Johnstown Flood Museum in Pennsylvania, which commemorates the victims of an 1889 deluge that killed 2,209 people, temporarily closed due to flooding instigated by a water leak on the building’s third floor. “Everything I say leaks,” complained Mark Zuckerberg during an all-hands meeting about firing leakers at Meta, according to audio that was leaked within the day.
