Thank you, Laurence Tribe, for answering my desperate call for a new letter group expression other than OMG.
It’s not that I’m getting tired of OMG. It’s that OMG is sort of wearing out its punch. (Read Paul Tillich, although I can’t remember in which of his books I read about epiphanic expressions–religious, in his case–losing their power to thrill after years of ritualistic repetition.)
So, how excited did I get when Laurence Tribe, constitutional scholar and Harvard Law prof, used this in a tweet: “OMFG”?
If it works for him, it works for me.
