Another racial harassment lawsuit

Reported in the New York Times, Millennium Broadway Hotel Loses Hostile Workplace Suit – NYTimes.com.

Since the defendant was the Millennium hotel chain and the successful plaintiff is one man, an African-American employee named Freddrick MacMillan, it reminds me to remind everyone that the “tort reform” “movement” is about big corporations attempting to limit righteous lawsuits brought against them by individuals.

Mr. MacMillan’s lawyer is Darnley D. Stewart. A federal jury awarded her client $125,000 in compensatory damages and $1 million in punitive damages.

The Millennium’s lawyers are going to move the judge to set aside the jury’s verdict. Let’s call that move the “tort reform movement” in action.
