From Harper’s Weekly Review:

“But what are they protecting by taking Elvis away from the public?” asked an Elvis impersonator and Las Vegas chapel owner of the recently imposed ban on unlicensed usage of “Presley’s name, likeness, voice image, and other elements of Elvis Presley’s persona in advertisements, merchandise and otherwise.”

I confirmed this. Elvis Presley was taken away from the public in 1977. Maybe I’m being too rational?
