What voting means to me: camraderie and cupcakes

That’s what I missed when I voted by mail a month ago.

My precinct is in an elementary school and the kids cover tables near the entrance with sweet stuff, which they sell for maybe a dollar. I always go for the chocolate cupcake. I so missed this, I nearly went to the school to see if I could sneak in to the sweets tables.

What with a persistent lung problem, I couldn’t do the in-person thing this time. So, when I went shopping, I wound up grabbing a bag of apple cider donuts.

Even the freak-out pessimists in my life are calm today. All good.
