Can Trump voters be subjects of mass psychosis?

As I said earlier today, my sister and I were trying to figure out the Trump support conundrum and I suggested it’s sort of like mass psychosis.

Neither of us knows whether it is possible.

But poets and philosophers do. I just picked up this quote from Nietzsche in a reader’s comment to today’s NYT Roger Cohen column:

“In individuals, insanity is rare, but in groups, parties, nations, and epochs, it is the rule.”

By the way, Nietzsche himself went mad.
