Depositions: “Can my deposition be shown to defendant?”

That’s the search string I just got and I’m not sure what to make of it.

If the searcher is asking whether his own deposition is shown to the defendant … ? Huh? Assuming the searcher is the plaintiff, his deposition is taken by the defendant’s lawyer, so of course the defendant − who has, as I’ve pointed out, the right to be there during the deposition − can read the deposition transcript. He’s the one, via his lawyer, doing the deposing.

Boy, is there a lot of confusion out there regarding depositions.
