Finding a lawyer: or, maybe not

Stephen Glass, the ex-New Republic hot shot reporter who just made up stuff (and became a sort of negative star: his story was dramatized in the film Shattered Glass) has just been denied a license to practice law in California.

An unusually not-hilarious piece from Lowering the Bar: Breaking: Professional Fabulist Denied License to Practice Law – Lowering the Bar.

What it means to Sidebar? Notoriety (and the concomitant media coverage) may not be a good way of finding a lawyer. You need to read between the lines. Or the lines themselves.
