Follow the Party’s yellow brick road…if you can find it

How to make a dazzling political promise, from Harper’s Weekly Review:

“Since we have inaugurated it, it will be constructed too,” said an official in Uttar Pradesh, India, referring to a rural road for which his party, the BJP, is trying to take credit even though it does not exist.

Does this remind you of, say, another political party, say, in this country, which takes credit for things that do exist…even though the party had nothing to do with those things except say “No!” to them?
