“He is truly the devil,” re Lamborghini owner-“scammer”

Oops and that Lamborghini is no more. According to the Daily News yesterday:

The suspected scammer accused of duping a mentally ill millionaire into buying him a $480,000 Lamborghini wrecked the Italian sports car in a drunken August 2011 crash.

So sad: Suspect accused of scamming mentally ill millionaire into buying $480K Lamborghini drunkenly crashed the luxury vehicle in 2011: police – NY Daily News.

There are a couple of tasty lines in this continuing story by Barry Paddock, Barbara Ross and Larry McShane:

[Michael] Giacobbe said Gershkovich was so trashed that he called the cops on himself after the crash.

And the last paragraph is tremendous:

[Jeffrey] Horan, now 43, was thrown through the windshield [of the helicopter that crashed with him in it in 2001] and appeared dead to his five fellow survivors. “You don’t crash doing 165 miles an hour into trees and walk out normal,” said crash survivor Drew Doscher. The Liberty Helicopters pilot, Paul Tramontana, had served time in the 1980s for a vicious attempted murder.

OK, let me repeat that last line:

The Liberty Helicopters pilot, Paul Tramontana, had served time in the 1980s for a vicious attempted murder.

OMG, this case is so jammed with … stuff. And not one stuff is a red herring.
