Health insurers falsely cancelling plans, and now getting sued

From The Daily Kos, news that with all this tumult about new health plans, and losing your old health plans, insurance companies (what? those people I trust with my, um, what do I trust them with?) are finally being sued by pissed off people who’ve been lied to.

Ah, it makes you pine retrospectively over the entire Affordable Care Act debate in congress and why the utterly simple and effective Medicare program couldn’t just have been extended to….

EVERYONE.

Oh, yeah, I mean I know the reason: it would’ve knocked private insurance companies out of business. And we do not live entirely in a democracy, you know. It’s more a corporatocracy.
