Heard about the hepatitis scare at a NYC restaurant?

Well, it’s become a lawsuit. Are you surprised? The restaurant happens to be in my neighborhood and although I smiled at the Daily News headline and its opening paragraph —

‘Hepatitis’ diners seek just deserts

Today’s special at a West Village bistro that allegedly served customers hepatitis A is a class-action lawsuit

the last paragraph of the very short article did make me stop for a moment and shiver slightly:

“The plaintiffs are seeking unspecific damages for ’emotional distress’ and medical costs.”

I thought, yeah, if I heard that I might have hepatitis A after eating in a restaurant, I’d be a little emotional, too.

The lawyer for the plaintiffs is William Marler.
