Heidi Heitkamp will vote “no” on Kavanaugh

From the New York Times just now:

…one of two remaining undecided Democrats, Senator Heidi Heitkamp, who faces a difficult re-election race in her home state of North Dakota, said she would vote against the nomination. In a statement, she conjured the testimony of Christine Blasey Ford, who said Judge Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when she was 15.

“When I listened to Dr. Ford testify, I heard the voices of women I have known throughout my life who have similar stories of sexual assault and abuse,” Ms. Heitkamp said.

She is always termed “embattled,” and she is. Despite one recent poll showing her down 10 points, she is not. 538 analyzes her as down around 3 or 4. Still, she is down.

The Republican running to take her seat, Kevin Cramer, is one of those men of whom I always comment, “Where does the GOP FIND these creatures?”

Specifically, here’s Cramer re Kavanaugh:

Cramer said during a Friday radio interview that the Kavanaugh accusation is “even more absurd” than Anita Hill’s 1991 sexual harassment allegation against Clarence Thomas because Kavanaugh and his accuser were teenagers.

When I call these men “creatures,” I think I mean dumb.

Heidi needs money. I trust I’m not abusing you when I suggest you send her some. After all, she stuck up for us. For truth, justice and the American way. Doesn’t take a lot of $$; there are less than 800,000 people in North Dakota, and that probably counts children.

Say, $10? Or even $5. Directly to her. If 500,000 of us each send Heidi 5 bucks, that’ll add $2.5 million to her campaign funds. Let’s help her.
