Today’s Daily News had an absorbing short piece about Justice Milton Tingling, the Supreme Court judge who just ruled against Mayor Bloomberg’s ban on big soda bottles.<\/p>\n

I’m less interested in the soda bottle ban than I am in the justice himself. Because Justice Tingling has a personal and professional story that illuminates not only the kinds of cases Supreme Court justices are handed and must manage but how they come to be sitting on that raised bench in a courtroom.<\/p>\n

If I haven’t mentioned it before, I will now: plaintiffs, it’s a good thing to find out about your judge.<\/p>\n
