I’m getting pretty sick, in both senses, of the epidemic of lawsuits against institutions \u2014 upstanding, moral authority institutions \u2014 for failing to protect children from sexual abuse by some of those “moral authority” figures, i.e., teachers.<\/p>\n

So just in case you think I’m anti-Catholic (or anti-exclusive prep school), here’s a lawsuit against fundamentalist Judaism: Yeshiva University High School former students file $380 million sex abuse lawsuit\u00a0 – NY Daily News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What strikes me here is how many former students have joined in this lawsuit: nineteen. And that both the writer of the piece, Michael O’Keefe, and the plaintiffs’ lawyer, Kevin Mulhearn, are Irish, presumably born Catholic.
