{"id":18864,"date":"2014-03-15T14:30:35","date_gmt":"2014-03-15T18:30:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sidebarforplaintiffs.naomifein.net\/?p=18864"},"modified":"2014-03-15T14:30:35","modified_gmt":"2014-03-15T18:30:35","slug":"how-not-to-behave-in-court-another-lesson-from-a-celeb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sidebarforplaintiffs.naomifein.net\/?p=18864","title":{"rendered":"How not to behave in court: another lesson from a celeb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have previously dropped words into your ears about how foolishly celebrities can behave during legal procedures.<\/p>\n<p>But wow, celebs are <em>really<\/em> dumb! <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/new-york\/damon-dash-shows-late-trial-harasses-reporters-article-1.1721308\">Damon Dash shows up late for trial, harasses reporters and shouts at judge &#8211; NY Daily News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dumb, because no matter that they seem to believe court appearances are opportunities to enhance The Brand, their lawyers \u2014 and I&#8217;m sure Dash has strong legal advisors \u2014 must tell their clients how they have to behave in court.<\/p>\n<p>Which means, you don&#8217;t<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Show up late for trial.<\/li>\n<li>Bother observers, like reporters covering your (celeb) case (I&#8217;d guess the &#8220;two female reporters sitting in the audience&#8221; were the Daily News&#8217; Barbara Ross and Dareh Gregorian, who wrote this piece).<\/li>\n<li>Use your smartphone to video-record the reporters (if I were one of them, I&#8217;d take that as a threat).<\/li>\n<li>Yell &#8220;racists!&#8221; at those same reporters.<\/li>\n<li>Mouth off at the judge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Extreme Behavior which certainly suggests the obverse: how TO behave in court.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have previously dropped words into your ears about how foolishly celebrities can behave during legal procedures.
