Now, here is why I love Kevin Underhill and his Lowering the Bar blog. As a writer he is a social satirist, but as a lawyer he is honorable about the facts he’s commenting upon. Which any good lawyer must be.<\/p>\n
So when he gets possible contradictions about something he’s already reported, he tells us. He doesn’t just, oh, what the hell, I’m not bothering to update or correct what I told everybody, if they want to believe it, they can believe it, it’s funny and who cares whether it’s true or not?<\/p>\n
Well, that’s not my Kevin. Because: UPDATE: Manson Camp Denies Wedding-Registry Claims – Lowering the Bar<\/a>.<\/p>\n Here are a couple of paragraphs:<\/p>\n Over at\u00a0vocativ,\u00a0Molly Fitzpatrick reports<\/a> that the “Manson camp” (her phrase) is denying reports like<\/a> these<\/a> that Manson and his 26-year-old fianc\u00e9e, who were recently issued a marriage license, have registered at Bed, Bath, & Beyond, or anywhere else for that matter.<\/em><\/p>\n That may very well be true, although other statements out of the Manson camp\u2014which is probably limited at this point to his 26-year-old fianc\u00e9e\u2014are not necessarily what one would call credible.<\/em><\/p>\n …<\/p>\n And the last couple of paragraphs. (The last line is my fave.)<\/p>\n Also, the site says its purpose is to provide accurate information about Manson (again, update coming soon), “and to present Manson’s spoken and written words in truth, without interference or manipulation.” The good news is that she takes that mission literally (although she does fix spelling errors, which I will not). Charlie was always good for a crazy quote, if nothing else, and he’s clearly still got it.
