First, on the left side of the page: Peace Effort With Taliban Is Excluding Women, Report Says – NYTimes.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n Then, on the right side of the page, nestled ever so cozily up to the one above: Turkish President Says Women Shouldn\u2019t Be Considered Equals – NYTimes.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish president, has just elevated himself into the pantheon of disgraceful powerful men. He’s dragging what was recently considered a fairly progressive Muslim country back into the primeval muck, just like most of the other Muslim countries. Maybe he’s being neighborly.
