Concussion Suit<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p id=\"story-continues-1\" class=\"story-body-text story-content\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\" data-para-count=\"192\" data-total-count=\"192\"><em>CHICAGO \u2014 A proposed settlement in a class-action concussion lawsuit against the <a class=\"meta-org\" title=\"More articles about the National Collegiate Athletic Association.\" href=\"http:\/\/topics.nytimes.com\/top\/reference\/timestopics\/organizations\/n\/national_collegiate_athletic_assn\/index.html?inline=nyt-org\">N.C.A.A.<\/a> may have been dealt a blow on Tuesday when the lead plaintiff in the case said he opposed the deal.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body-text story-content\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\" data-para-count=\"267\" data-total-count=\"459\"><em>In a statement released through the National College Players Association, an advocacy group for college athletes, the plaintiff, Adrian Arrington, called the settlement \u201ccompletely unacceptable\u201d and said that his lawyers agreed to the deal without his knowledge.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body-text story-content\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\" data-para-count=\"216\" data-total-count=\"675\"><em>\u201cThe first time I learned about it was in the media,\u201d Arrington said. \u201cI feel that I have been misinformed and the preliminary settlement doesn\u2019t address the reasons I filed the lawsuit in the first place.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body-text story-content\" data-para-count=\"216\" data-total-count=\"675\">A big no-no.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Adrian Arrington, the lead plaintiff in a class-action lawsuit against the N.C.A.A., said his lawyers had agreed to the deal without his knowledge.
