So, having announced my advanced methodology, here&#8217;s Kevin on how Wikipedia works. Think about this when you next check in with Wikipedia and assume everything it tells you is spot-on accurate:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>As Weird Al Yankovic has noted, it is a clear sign of nerdhood that one has edited a Wikipedia page\u00a0(and yes, I have done that). If you can\u2019t edit one yourself, you can ask other editors to do it for you, as <a href=\"http:\/\/loweringthebar.us5.list-manage2.com\/track\/click?u=d34db4689a16c24346a1474e2&amp;id=5f06bab57b&amp;e=b27870a939\" rel=\"nofollow\">this incident shows<\/a>. That gentleman\u00a0asked for several edits to the page about himself, complaining that (among other things) it used\u00a0an inaccurate nickname, got the details of his early life wrong, and that someone had deleted a paragraph mentioning his book about the Manson Family killings. This caused\u00a0quite a stir, mainly because he was the Manson Family member in question. <a href=\"http:\/\/loweringthebar.us5.list-manage1.com\/track\/click?u=d34db4689a16c24346a1474e2&amp;id=1bc4af971c&amp;e=b27870a939\" rel=\"nofollow\">Charles \u201cTex\u201d Watson<\/a> (if it was actually him), also said the article wrongly accused him of taking $70 from one of the victims. Guess he felt it was important to set the record straight.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Okay, the articles I have edited at one point or another include, but are not limited to, \u201clarceny,\u201d \u201ccoulrophobia,\u201d \u201ctrial of the century,\u201d \u201cThe Texas Chainsaw Massacre,\u201d \u201cJohn Dean,\u201d \u201cthe Insular Cases,\u201d \u201cBaba Yaga,\u201d \u201crestatements of the law,\u201d \u201cEgyptian pyramids,\u201d \u201cHenry V,\u201d and \u201cCthulhu Mythos,\u201d and I\u2019m sure there was a good reason I was interested in each of those topics at the time. Although the reason for \u201cBaba Yaga\u201d is not coming to mind right now, to be honest.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I haven&#8217;t posted Lowering the Bar
