The billionaire is Philip Anschutz and he is a bad guy–the impression I got years ago when I read Connie Bruck’s portrait of Anschutz in the New Yorker. And because of her article I stopped going to movies at Regal theaters.<\/a><\/p>\n

Two paragraphs from the Times article:<\/p>\n

As a lawyer at a Washington law firm in the early 2000s, Judge Gorsuch represented Mr. Anschutz, his companies and lower-ranking business executives as an outside counsel. In 2006, Mr. Anschutz successfully lobbied Colorado\u2019s lone Republican senator and the Bush administration to nominate Judge Gorsuch to the federal appeals court. And since joining the court, Judge Gorsuch has been a semiregular speaker at the mogul\u2019s annual dove-hunting retreats for the wealthy and politically prominent at his Eagles Nest Ranch<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThey say a country\u2019s prosperity depends on three things: sound money, private property and the rule of law,\u201d Judge Gorsuch said at the 2010 retreat, according to his speaker notes from that year. \u201cThis crowd hardly needs to hear from me about the first two of the problems we face on those scores.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Another Neu Wannsee Conference of the “wealthy and politically prominent.” A branch of the Koch Bros Final Solution to Democracy. (Which is, in case you’ve forgotten, get rid of all aspects of government that interfere or intertwine in any way with corporations, a\/k\/a regulations, and let the corporate monarchs do whatever they like with their businesses. They’ll pat us on the head occasionally but basically leave us alone to…sink, or go crazy. Or die.)<\/p>\n

PLUS: Dove-hunting? These creatures hunt doves?????????????? The GOP wants to put a guy who murders doves on the Supreme Court??????????<\/p>\n

These are sick creatures.<\/p>\n
