Here are the facts: GOP representatives’ letters to their constituents–letters, mind you, somewhat more distancing than facing constituents in town halls where lies get immediately called out–lie about the ACA.<\/p>\n

When Louisiana resident Andrea Mongler wrote to her senator, Bill Cassidy, in support of the Affordable Care Act, she wasn\u2019t surprised to get an email back detailing the law\u2019s faults. Cassidy, a Republican who is also a physician, has been a vocal critic.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cObamacare\u201d he wrote in January, \u201cdoes not lower costs or improve quality, but rather it raises taxes and allows a presidentially handpicked \u2018Health Choices Commissioner\u2019 to determine what coverage and treatments are available to you.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0There\u2019s one problem with Cassidy\u2019s ominous-sounding assertion: It\u2019s false.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/section>\n
