My friend Michele just sent me this story, The Kochs want that tax cut. Badly. – The Boston Globe<\/a><\/em>. Predictably sickening, it begins:<\/p>\n

The message from the billionaire-led Koch network of donors to President Trump and the Republican Congress it helped to shape couldn\u2019t be more clear: Pass a tax overhaul, or else.<\/em><\/p>\n

As the donors mixed and mingled for a policy summit at the St. Regis hotel in midtown Manhattan last week, just a block south from Trump Tower, it came up again. And again. And again.<\/em><\/p>\n

But there is one sentence, a quote, that chills me the most because it is emblematic of what the Kochs want, and what they so believe their money bought them–the Republican Party–they are not even bothering to put it in code, not anymore.<\/p>\n

I’ve bolded the key horrifying word within that sentence:<\/p>\n

\u201c[Tax cuts for the rich are]the crux issue,\u201d said Chris Wright, a Koch donor and CEO of Liberty Oilfield Services in Denver. He predicted that Republicans would \u201cpay a heavy price\u201d in the 2018 midterm elections if the effort fails, explaining that donors and activists alike would walk away from the party.<\/em><\/p>\n

“If you give<\/strong> someone the leadership baton, you expect them to get something done,\u201d Wright explained.<\/em><\/p>\n

“Give.” They openly state that they gave<\/strong> the Republican Party control. What more do we need to know? They are the enemy of the people of the United States.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
