Below is the Publisher’s Marketplace announcement today of Amy Chozick’s book on the Hillary Clinton campaign.<\/p>\n
Throughout the campaign, I found Chozick’s coverage disgraceful, relentless snarky and superficial. She infuriated me every day I read her and this announcement just raises my bile level again.<\/p>\n
Much of the criticism of the campaign coverage has had to do with how much air time and column space Trump got. I cared less about that than about how the New York Times applied its always deplorable Maureen Dowd style to campaign coverage, no matter who was writing it.<\/p>\n
The Times has always had a nasty attitude toward the Clintons. My theory is that after the Washington Post “got” Nixon, the Times has been simmering in jealousy and looking for a president it could “get.” It picked on Bill Clinton. Ignored George Bush. Couldn’t do anything with Obama but hey Hillary?!<\/p>\n

Next Tuesday’s release of Amy Chozick<\/strong>‘s CHASING HILLARY: Ten Years, Two Presidential Campaigns, and One Intact Glass Ceiling has already drawn a pre-pub review in the Washington Post and coverage in the Daily Beast. Chozick reports Clinton as unsurprised when told she had lost the election to Trump: “I knew it. I knew this would happen to me,” Chozick quotes her as saying. “They were never going to let me be president.” Early in the campaign, Chozick told her husband on Clinton, “She really,really hates me.” <\/em>[Dear Amy: Hillary’s not the only one who really, really “hates” you — although you’re use of the word “hate” is grandiose.
