I am in need of lettuce. Salads are de rigueur<\/em> for me every night.<\/p>\n

I also need fresh fruit.<\/p>\n

But without the FDA inspecting foods,<\/a> and recalling the recent dire warning from the CDC about romaine and E.coli<\/a> even before<\/em> the shutdown, I’m thinking of steaming vegetables and making more apple sauce, or pear sauce — cooking fruits, that is, rather than eating them raw.<\/p>\n
