Want to know why? Of course you do.<\/p>\n

Here’s what happened. On Twitter the other day, I read this alarming tweet:<\/p>\n

James A. Gagliano<\/strong>\u200fVerified account<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>@JamesAGagliano<\/b><\/span><\/a> Feb 18<\/span><\/a> <\/small><\/p>\n

Just happened, East Texas. Texas DPS Officer: \u201cStopped you for speeding. License & Registration.\u201d Me: \u201cYes, sir. And so you know, I\u2019m retired law enforcement, have weapon on me.\u201d Officer: \u201cSo do I. And this is Texas. Everyone has weapon on \u2018em. License & Registration.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Thing about Twitter, I’m almost compelled to respond to something like this, because it’s fast, it’s easy, it fits into my — what should we call them? Values? Sure, why not? So I replied to Mr Gagliano, whom it seems I follow even if I’m not certain who he is. I am certain this was my reply:<\/p>\n

Thanks for this. I’m now making plans never to go to Texas.<\/p>\n

The next day when I went onto Twitter, I saw I had over 40 responses to something or other. I said to myself, “Uh-oh. What did I do?”

Texas. That’s what I did.<\/p>\n

Not all of Texas, just East Texas. The anal entry to the deep south.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

So I told this person: O<\/span><\/span><\/span>K, I will adjust my non-trip planning to East Texas alone.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Yeah, we carry in West Texas too. And south Texas. And every other part of Texas. Probably best you stay up north ma\u2019am.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
