(Sorry, can&#8217;t help the edible puns).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><em>You will of course recall that the United States Government was hoping to auction off almost a ton of not-at-all-fresh American paddlefish meat, apparently doing everything it can to rustle up the money for that wall.\u00a0See\u00a0\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/loweringthebar.us5.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=d34db4689a16c24346a1474e2&amp;id=3887b38f0a&amp;e=b27870a939\">United States v. 1855.6 Pounds of American Paddlefish Meat<\/a>\u201d (Nov. 14, 2018) and\u00a0\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/loweringthebar.us5.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=d34db4689a16c24346a1474e2&amp;id=253ea8dc35&amp;e=b27870a939\">Update: The Paddlefish Defendants Are Now for Sale<\/a>\u201d (Jan. 28, 2019). The latest update:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/loweringthebar.us5.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=d34db4689a16c24346a1474e2&amp;id=a1ff71eb1e&amp;e=b27870a939\">nobody bought it<\/a>. (No one even bid.) Now what? Do the defendants go free?<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><em>Nope. The government put them on the block again, dropping the starting bid from $3,180 to $2,865, and it offered an even better deal on that 1,536 pounds of not-at-all-fresh paddlefish caviar (down from $92,200 to $82,980). Tempting! But not tempting enough to <a href=\"https:\/\/loweringthebar.us5.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=d34db4689a16c24346a1474e2&amp;id=1f52000374&amp;e=b27870a939\">attract any bidders, again<\/a>. If you\u2019re holding out for the best deal possible on fish products that may or may not have been continuously refrigerated, tick tock, my friend. Tick tock.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What is a paddlefish?
