Stones singer faces heart surgery: report<\/em><\/p>\n

Mick Jagger will reportedly undergo heart valve replacement surgery this week.<\/em>
\nJagger, 75, will have the operation in New York and is expected to make a full recovery, Rolling Stone confirmed Monday.<\/em><\/p>\n

The news emerged Monday, just days after it was announced that the Rolling Stones put their upcoming tour in the United States and Canada on hold while the front man received medical treatment.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cMick Jagger has been advised by doctors that he cannot go on tour at this time as he needs medical treatment,\u201d a statement to the group\u2019s Twitter account read Saturday. \u201cThe doctors have advised Mick that he is expected to make a complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The band did not specify what medical treatment Jagger needed.<\/em><\/p>\n

Jagger also wrote a note to his fans, apologizing for the tour change.<\/em>
\n\u201cI really hate letting you down like this,\u201d he said in a tweet. \u201cI\u2019m devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on stage as soon as I can. Once again, huge apologies to everyone.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

A rep for the rocker did not immediately respond to the Daily News for comment.<\/em>
\nThe legendary English band was set to kick off their No Filter Tour on April 20 in Miami. The Stones were expected to play at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on June 13. It would have been their first gig in the New York City area in seven years.<\/em>
\nOther stops included Jacksonville, Fla.; Houston; the New Orleans Jazz Festival; Pasadena and Santa Clara, Calif.; Seattle; Denver; Washington, D.C.; Philadelphia; Foxborough, Mass.; Chicago, and Ontario, Canada.<\/em><\/p>\n

Rescheduled tour dates will be announced \u201cshortly\u201d and tickets for the postponed shows will be valid at the replacement concerts.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
