Now that I’ve been tossed into the race for the shots in the arm,<\/a> I’ve developed a technique for addressing the vaccine locations on that very long scroll list.<\/p>\n

Fairly quickly, I learned that if the locations near me have no vaccine and are thus not scheduling appointments, no one has vaccine. So the idea that I’m going to find a peculiar facility in an out-of-the-way location (such as one which proudly [?] announces it’s in a basement [?]) is quixotic.<\/p>\n

If one place doesn’t have it, nobody has it.<\/p>\n

Yes, I’ve bookmarked the COVID vaccine site so I can get into it quickly but when my local Walgreen\/Duane Reade is a dead vaccine end, the Walgreen\/Duane Reade two blocks away will be a dead end.<\/p>\n

(Why is there a Walgreen\/Duane Reade on every other block? It’s a New York thing. Never mind.)<\/p>\n

I’m now targeting that one Walgreen\/Duane Reade along with a major hospital center where I have a physician. This involves typing in only two zip codes.<\/p>\n

My associate cousin Nancy gave me a magic formula she said one friend of hers has incanted successfully: get into the sites at 12:01 am and I’ll find an appointment. This early morning I gave it a shot (pun) but didn’t get one.<\/p>\n

Occasionally, I click on the New York State sites. Potsdam did not stand alone on the “appointments available” list. Plattsburgh International Airport and SUNY Binghamton, too, offered appointments. That is, at first they did. Then, suddenly, they didn’t.<\/p>\n

Although Plattsburgh International Airport (International<\/em> Airport??) and one SUNY are back on the “available” list, I don’t expect them to last until, say, 12:01 a.m.<\/p>\n

Potsdam, though, will be a dream forever.<\/p>\n
