I am afraid of bears. It’s unaccountable; never have I run into a bear in my life. Yet they scare me. When friends and relatives tell me stories about near-bear or bear encounters when they’ve been out in the wilderness, I cower. From the stories. Wilderness, I don’t have that much of around here. Oh, maybe Central Park, sure. It has critters, some of which are at the zoo.<\/p>\n
Cubs are cute. But big bears? The horrors.<\/p>\n
So I was grateful for this ursine tidbit from Harper’s Weekly Review because it didn’t make me shudder:<\/p>\n
