“Ineligible”

A monstrosity of a word, a monstrosity of a policy.

Whenever I hear news people repeat Trump administration minions when they call children “ineligible to be returned to their parents…” I get…

No words.

Let’s make this simple. There are parents and by definition they have children. Parents and children belong together. No outside force has the moral authority to label these children “ineligible.”

I realize there’s a prissy reluctance among respectable media figures to compare this to Nazi Germany. I’m not reluctant. I have read numerous histories of the Third Reich. Hitler’s war criminal cohort used words like “ineligible.” That’s how they marked, tattooed really, their vulnerable victims.

I don’t know what to do except to write this.
