Keeping schools open on snow days

While I fully support Mayor de Blasio’s decision to keep schools open the other day when it snowed (when did my city turn into Wimpville?), I read this letter in the Daily News and burst out laughing:

Brooklyn. I wanted to do the right thing by showing up to work Thursday. Instead, I’m writing this from inside an empty school, with no kids and about three other teachers. Pretty soon, we’ll be melting snow for water and sacrificing our weakest member (probably the math teacher) for protein… — J.B. McGeever
