Lawsuit over KKK incidents at a NYC hotel

From today’s Daily News and court reporter John Marzulli, a nasty story about a cook at the Roger Smith Hotel who has filed a $35 million discrimination lawsuit against the hotel and three employees who taunted him in a couple of racial incidents.

And one of those incidents was recorded on the hotel’s video surveillance system.

I’m trying to remember the theory behind such huge monetary demands which, of course, are virtually never achieved. If I figure it out, I’ll let you know.

This story was correctly set on the same newspaper page as the story about the anti-Semitic rage incident in Midwood, Brooklyn. One is an uncivil act; the other is a criminal one. Both involve racism.
