New animal news! Meet The Blob

My adventurous search* for animal news may have run into an underwater cavern somewhere around Puerto Rico.

Duobrachium sparksae. That’s its scientific name but it’s easier to call it comb jelly or, even easier, The Blob. It isn’t a cousin of jellyfish although it looks like it could be. It’s prettier than the African crested rat.

*Abetted and encouraged by Ellen Kaye. I’m thinking some day she might regret plying me with animal news but I don’t know why she would.
