Notes from a plague town: there is noise

Yes. Yesterday morning I awoke to something I could not immediately identify. (I’m slow in the morning.) Yet something was different.

It was noise. Outside in the street, noise. Given its continuity, I determined it was construction noise. Construction.

I walked uptown for a bit of shopping. And there was traffic. Cars going up and down West End, cars on the cross streets. The sound of traffic. And more people were out taking walks, all of them with masks.

If the city is waking and stretching after its long springtime nap, this is good.

The sound of a city is good.
