Outrage: the word of every one of my days

Because I’m getting weary of using the same damn word virtually every day to describe my state of being, I’ve delved (delicately: the pages are fragile) into my father’s 1924 Roget’s Thesaurus to get synonyms I might use in the immediate future.

A short list, from which I’ve bolded some of the more delicious ones:

RESENTMENT, displeasure, animosity, anger, wrath, ire, indignation, exasperation, vexation, bitter resentment, wrathful indignation.

Pique, dudgeon, acerbity, virulence, acrimony, asperity, spleen, gall, heartburning, heart-swelling, rankling.

RAGE, fury, towering rage, passion, paroxysm, fire and fury, vials of wrath, gnashing of teeth, hot blood.

UMBRAGE, affront, provocation, offense, indignity, red rag, casus belli…and

Outrage.
