Rosie Perez v “Law & Order: SVU” settles

From John Marzulli, in today’s Daily News, a follow-up to the lawsuit I reported on May 21, 2011:

Actress Rosie Perez has settled her personal injury lawsuit against the producers of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” her lawyer confirmed Wednesday.

Perez claimed she suffered serious neck and back injuries and nerve damage in 2009 when she was violently shaken by an extra during a stunt for an episode entitled “Hardwired.”

She underwent two surgeries and was unable to work, according to papers filed in Brooklyn Federal Court.

The suit, in which Perez had sought an amount that “exceeds the sum of $75,000,” was resolved this week under confidential terms, according to court filings and the actress’ lawyer, Brian O’Dwyer.

Perez, 47, claimed in her complaint that she was negligently “grabbed, yanked, wrenched and manhandled.”
