Some non-Big Pharma drug news

There’s some excellent Big Pharma news today. The Biden administration has succeeded in their negotiations with Big Pharma, over whether Medicare Part D plans can push prices of certain important drugs down for seniors. It’s really really great news.

But that’s now what I’m talking about. I picked this up from Harper’s Weekly Review:

The FDA rejected MDMA as a treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder; a beachgoer found 70 pounds of cocaine on a beach in Florida; and a man was arrested outside a warehouse about 12 miles east of Los Angeles for attempting to ship a ton of meth to Australia.

And…

[A] woman in Florida was arrested after police discovered a bag of drugs inside a bag labeled “bag of drugs,”* and a Catholic priest in Austria was arrested for operating a meth lab in the rectory of his church.

PS. I believe the Ecstasy idea will be further investigated and re-submitted to the FDA. As an observer (and maybe victim) of what I call serial PTSD, I’m all for it.

*Was the bag Hermes or from Canal Street?
