I’d seen a video on Twitter which didn’t make a lot of sense to me, although it was described as being a group of teachers scrabbling on the ground for money. A lot of horrified comments supporting teachers followed.
Today, though, Harper’s Weekly Review provides us all with what this nauseating business was about:
At a hockey game in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, 10 area teachers competed against each other to grab as many dollar bills from a pile of $5,000 that was lying in the middle of the rink so that they could get additional funding for their classrooms. “The teachers in this area, and any teacher, they deserve whatever the heck they get,” said the director of business development and marketing for CU Mortgage Direct, the company that donated the money.
I note the person who developed this…I don’t know what to call it, except to throw up all over it (my parents and most of their friends were teachers)…is not a CEO but is clearly sociopathic enough to advance quickly up the career ladder.
