The court says you can’t pay your way out of a lease cancellation

A curt court warning to tenants who’ve received notice from their landlords that their leases will be not renewed. This is especially ugly news given that New York State’s incontinent and incompetent legislature has just failed to renew our protective rent regulation laws.

P.S. I wonder how many times we city folk can suggest that we secede from the wretched State which exists only because our tax dollars keep it going. Oh, that was an incomplete sentence, even though a complete thought: Hey New Yorkers! Let’s stop muttering about secession and just do it.

Rent Payment Does Not Invalidate Notice, Court Says
