♥ As I type this, the Senate is confirming Ketanji Brown Jackson as a Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.
♥ A surprise! A bill that would ban all abortions in Nebraska if the U.S. Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade died on the Senate floor Wednesday night after an eight-hour filibuster.
♥ The Senate has just unanimously voted to pass legislation banning imports of Russian energy products. The bill now goes back to the House.
♥ From President Biden: “Over the last four weeks, fewer Americans filed initial claims for unemployment insurance than any time in our nation’s recorded history. While we have more work to do to lower costs for families, today’s data demonstrates that America is on the move again.”
♥ This morning, the UN General Assembly voted to suspend Russia from the Human Rights Council for its gross and systematic violations of human rights.
♥ Donald Trump told Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich to find evidence of election fraud in Maricopa County. It’s been a while — I mean, since November 2020 — and Brnovich who is devoted to Trump, tried very very very hard. But he had to announce he’d found nada in the voter fraud department.
I’m not sure about this, but it may be National Burrito Day. Or maybe not.
