I don’t have a car, never mind a Toyota, and thus do not have an accelerator but for all of you who depend upon your cars and trust that they won’t drive themselves (sounds like a Stephen King novel), here’s some good news: Toyota Will Pay $1.6 Billion Over Faulty Accelerator Suit – NYTimes.com.
This was a class-action lawsuit and it’s a worthwhile read to see how the awards to individual plaintiffs were calculated, as well as what they stand for. Because personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits against Toyota are not a part of this settlement.
And this lawsuit took a long time.
