Did you know Trump blocks people who criticize him in response to his tweets? (I only read ’em, I don’t respond to ’em.)
You don’t have to think that over for too long because a group of (blocked) plaintiffs is taking care of the problem for all of us:
‘Uncharted Waters’ for First Amendment in Trump Twitter Suit?
B. Colby Hamilton, New York Law Journal
Attorneys for the U.S. Department of Justice said a preliminary injunction to force President Donald Trump to unblock a group of plaintiffs on Twitter would “send the First Amendment deep into uncharted waters,” according to a letter filed Aug. 11 .
Somehow I think the First Amendment has been in deeper uncharted waters than the offense Trump takes with people who criticize him in response to his tweets. Which aren’t very deep at all. We’re talking about paddling around a kiddie pool.
Oh, and this particular Department of Justice, headed by Sessions? I don’t have a lot of faith it knows what it’s talking about, let along what it’s supposed to be doing with itself.
