What’s doing in the UK? Some fool decisions re a heated swimming pool and a union

From Harper’s Weekly Review:

A report revealed that a portion of the British electric grid had been upgraded for the sole purpose of heating Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s new swimming pool, and Heathrow Airport criticized the 1,400 union workers who plan to strike over Easter for “threatening to ruin people’s hard-earned holidays.”

The heated Tory swimming pool speaks for itself, but — forgive me, I’m not an intimate of the New Testament — isn’t Easter when somebody’s messiah rose from the grave, etc etc? When did the meaning of Easter transition from death to “hard-earned holidays”?
