During nuclear winter, wild foods surviving in tropical forests will include baobab trees, mopane worms, and palm weevils.
–A Harper’s July 2022 Finding
I know about baobab trees, but nothing about mopane worms or palm weevils. They sound unpleasant. So I looked them up (that’s what the links are), since we’re not in nuclear winter — at least not in New York (over 90º).
I eat everything but I’m not going to be eating mopane worms.
